Drynaria laurentii  is an epiphytic fern native to tropical Africa. This plant naturally grows on tree trunks and rocks, absorbing moisture and nutrients from the air and rain.

Characteristics:

  • Leaves: The plant has long, deeply lobed fronds resembling deer antlers, contributing to its unique appearance.
  • Growth Form: As an epiphyte, Drynaria laurentii grows without soil, often attaching itself to other plants or surfaces, drawing nutrients from its environment.

Care Tips:

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light.
  • Water: Maintain high humidity and water regularly, but avoid keeping the roots constantly wet. Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Regular misting helps retain moisture.
  • Temperature: Ideal between 18°C and 24°C.
  • Hardiness: Not hardy. This fern cannot tolerate frost and must be kept indoors or in a warm greenhouse at temperatures above 10°C.
  • Placement: Prefers bright, indirect light. Tolerates partial shade but thrives best with sufficient light. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
